Contents Page Flat Plans

This flat plan I have created is a typical plan of a contents page for a Hip Hop magazine. The page is divided into two where the main image is on the left and the page numbers and writing is on the right. I have considered the use of rule of thirds by placing the dominant image to be on the left side so the reader will automatically look from left to right. Also, I have selected this layout purposely to gain more awareness onto the image which would attract the targeted audience. The smaller sized insert images is placed under the text as it will show the reader a sneak preview of what will be expected in some of the important pages.  Each page number will be with a heading and a little feature with it. By keeping it simple and creative will appeal more to my target audience as I have found that out from my audience research.

My next flat plan is designed to be most suitable for my target audience that were interested in more text with the images. By having a major balance will range the target audience but however could be designed to be dull and boring. This flat plan is laid out especially to make more text stand out and be in more brief general detail of what to expect inside the magazine. Some of the conventions here are used in the first flat plan of my choice. However, one difference is made with a letter from the editor/freebie/advertisement will be there to add additional information to the front cover which could make it more of a professional image.
