Typeface Research

The lick
The typeface is called ‘Terminator Two’.  This typeface is very unique as it is fully block capitals and better visually as it is big and bold. This can connotate to be more modern and appealing to my target audience and can be mostly used for main text or sub-headings as it is big and bold.

The Lick
This specific typeface is called ‘X-Files’. It is very original and could be suitable for text as it is clear to read. It’s more neutral and neat than other typefaces as it is not fully bold.

The Lick
This typeface is called ‘Tw Cen MT Condensed Extra Bold’. This is very effective as it is cold, small and very neutral. This can be used as main text as it looks more professional and likeable. This can engage my target audience more and can fill more text in such a small space as the letter spacing is perfectively apart.

The Lick
The typeface above is called ‘Eras Bold ITC’. This particular typeface is very original looking but can be bit too bold in my opinion. Using this as main text or a sub heading can look more masculine. Another downfall can be being to original could bore the reader thinking the magazine won’t appeal to them which doesn’t show any form of technique in a Hip Hop magazine.

The lick
This is called ‘LETTEROMATIC!’. In an unusual way of text this can be effective as sub headings not more of text as it looks more casualness with its curves on the letters. This could be neutral to both genders of my target audience.

The above six different typefaces will give me more of an idea on which will be used for quotes, sub headings or even main text. This will keep my magazine to have a consistent house style and to look more professional. I will choose one for sub heading which will have to have the bold effect and correct unique way to appeal my target audience with. And the other will be used for main text which I will need a appropriate clearer typeface to allow readers to be able to see the text better with no problems at all.
