By creating this magazine I will need to gather crucial primary and secondary research in order to find out the content and conventions of a Hip Hop magazine to gain deeper depth and knowledge of the specific genre and my target audience. My target audience will be mostly aimed at young generation ranging from 16-24 year olds. The way in which I will consider to appeal to my target audience is throughout powerful and artistic layouts, attractive images, colour schemes and neutral typefaces which will suit both genders of my target audience.
I am going to be looking at primary and secondary research carefully to see what my consumers would expect from the magazine. In my primary research, I will be carrying out surveys and questionnaires to gain more knowledge of what my target audience is expecting from the magazine. My secondary research, I will develop my knowledge in media concepts such as the ‘hypodermic needle theory’ and ‘the rule of thirds’ to see how these will help me engage my consumers more. To develop my research I will look at other Hip Hop magazines, which will give me a better idea on codes and conventions to include into my magazine which will appeal efficiently to my customers.
